If you have started reading this page, we have two things in common:
The love of the VIOLIN and the love of JAZZ
>>>> Maybe you are already part of our beautiful community
dedicated to these passions <<<<
If so, let me ask you this question:
What does JAZZ mean to you?
> Spontaneity, surprise...
> The freedom to "play" in the chords…
> Improvisation, letting go ...
> The communication between the artist and the audience ...
The meaning of JAZZ is so vast, powerful and intimate that every music lover could
create their own unique definition ...
But, let's go back to your feelings and emotions.
Those moments of "Grace" that move you, that makes you come alive ...
But you may also secretly be a bit envious,
and this is quite normal ...
Deep down. we are still little children
- Hearing and seeing these talented artists enables us to fly to the paradise of our senses ...
- Watching these contortionists modulate, change their expression ...
- Feeling them fly away to another world, becoming a kind of channel of melodic bewitchment which comes from who knows where ...
These wizards and witches of musical spontaneity,
... these chords alchemists ...
... they have their secrets ...
And deep down inside, you already know them...
Here they are :
Transcription / Practice / Work / Fun / Self-confidence / Transcription / Practice / Work / Fun / Self-confidence / Transcription / Practice / Work / Fun / Self-confidence / Transcription / Practice / Work / Fun / Self-confidence ...
Well, you understand ...
NOTHING JUST FALLS FROM THE SKY !
I grant you ... some have been gifted with a small dose of genius ...
But you see...
That was not my case !
I am not one of the chosen ones and besides, I do not believe for a single moment that these chosen ones have twiddled their thumbs, even if a fairy had, in fact, visited them in their cradles.
I worked, worked and worked again ... and now
I thrive in the world of improvisation ...
"- I get it Eva ! It's practice, we know ... but ...
Where do I start ? How do I make it happen ?
How can I get away from the written music and free my senses?
And what about the technique in all this…? "
What you just read are some common questions about improvisation from my community.
I have done training courses as well as YouTube tutorials on the subject ...
After sharing these, some of you have even asked me for the sheet music of my improvisations.
And these issues challenged me.
Clearly.
If you read Improvised jazz, then it is no longer improvisation ...
But after discussing this subject with my musician friends as well as with my community, I have come to understand the reasoning behind this request.
After all, it was like that for me : in order for me to find my own style, I borrowed from the improvisations of those who inspired me.
I played them, then made them my own ...
I also worked on my scales and transposed these improvisations into different keys ... so that they
Would become instinctive ...
Under my fingers ...
In my body and in my voice ...
So I understood, listened, arranged, transcribed, put it on paper ...
And my offer is to you :
* A complete booklet *
allowing you to see the written licks
* A page with all the tutorials *
* A video with my advice for working on licks *
* Access to the private group *
To inspire you ...

Dear Eva, As you may have gathered, much as I enjoy your videos, I do better with sheet music – which I can refer to at my own pace.
I enjoyed working through your sheet music lessons – with the accompanying video, and am now looking forward to your next sheet music efforts.
When one is learning to play jazz violin, one wants to pick up information from different sources. The ideal for learning jazz is personal contact – at which you are an expert.
However, as a retired physician living in the country that option is not open to me – so I make do with working through jazz books and your method.
John
